OUR PROMISE

Sustainability

We are constantly looking for new ways to improve our sustainability and below are some of the steps we have taken so far.

Our Timber

Sustainably Sourced Timber

All of our timber is sourced from local FSC certified sawmills and timber merchants.

What does FSC mean?

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) insure that certified forests are managed with consideration for people, wildlife and the environment.

This means that the trees that are harvested are replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally. Parts of the forest are even left entirely to protect rare wildlife and plants. Also, the forest owner must use local workers, providing them with training, safety equipment and a good salary, supporting the local community.

Our Paint & Finishes

Clear Finishes

Although some of our clear finishes have a higher VOC content, most are based on renewable raw materials and when dry are safe for humans, animals and plants, making them also ideal for use with children's toys.

Painted Furniture

All of our painted products are painted using low VOC paints.

Our Packaging

Cardboard

All of our cardboard packaging is 100% recycled.

Plastics

Any plastics we use during the packaging process is made from over 30% recycled materials.

We are constantly looking for new ways to lower the amount of plastics we use in our packaging process without risking damage to items during shipping.

Our Recycling

Recycling

Even as a smaller company, we have many deliveries for timber, hardware, paints and consumables.

Any packaging from these deliveries that meet our environmental standards, we now use in our own packaging where possible and fit for purpose.
